Same Girl / We're Both In Love With a Sexy Lady

This week, I was delighted to find that the Flight of the Conchord's parodied to R. Kelly and Usher's popular "Same Girl" music video. "Same Girl" which debuted in 2007 tells saga of two friends learning that they are pursuing the same woman. The song is sung as a duet as if the two men are having a current conversation, featuring highly specific lyrics. The music video was created to promote R. Kelly's album "Double Up," first leaked online before receiving radio play.

The Flight of the Conchord's music video to "We're Both in Love With a Sexy Lady" is funny on its own, but far more hilarious after having seen the R. Kelly video.

More Coraline Posters

"Be Careful What You Wish For"

This poster reminds me of a circus flyer or ticket stub (appropriate for the movie), although the central buttons, spool of thread, and needle (as well as the slogan) give an ominous tone to a potentially childlike image.

Coraline

Henry Selick's latest stop-motion masterpiece, "Coraline" has come with a slew of savvy advertisements to promote the release of the film.

First off, there is the official website, a fantastic, loaded with games, film clips, downloads, promotional stills, and behind the scenes videos. The site is beautifully arranged with the intent to have the viewer really explore Coraline's world, complete with a literal "map" of the website as well as hidden treasures interspersed.

This poster emulates the darker, more sinister world of "Coraline" with the Other Mother's hand reflected in the tree.

Meanwhile, the website Impawards, has displayed nearly all of the film's latest poster releases. These posters reflect a more colorful world than previous installments indicated, and even features alternate designs that are based on the entire alphabet.

Finally, there is the poster that has the artwork also featured on the original soundtrack cover to the film, in which the film's heroine crawls into an alternate universe.

Valentines Day with Apple

In honor of Valentine's Day, Apple took a more romantic approach on it's classic bold advertisements of iPod shuffles (with a greater emphasis on red). Two advertisements portray couples in love, the other a smiling girl surrounded by hearts (we assume she is in love).
